What are high value keywords

Not all short-tail keywords are going to be high value, so the niche that you are in determines the value of the keyword. If you are selling SEO courses, then some SEO keywords will make you money. If you only sell SEO services in London, then other keywords will make you more money.

When you first start link building to your websites, it’s a good idea to start targeting long-tail keywords, as most seasoned SEOs will go for short-tail keywords. There is less competition for long-tail keywords than there is for short-tail keywords.

Targeting long-tail keywords:

Targeting long-tail keywords means creating written, video, audio, and other types of content based on your long-tail keywords. Once you have your content created, start getting backlinks to your content. You can use tools such as Google Keyword Planner to find out the traffic and cost per click for your long-tail keywords. Once you have your lists together, in my opinion, it’s best to go for the long-tail keywords with the highest cost per click. The cost per click will be the cost per click using Google Ads or what it used to be called Google AdWords.

The reason you go for these types of high cost per click is that the free market will decide which keywords are best as they all try to bid on the same keyword. They all bid on the same keywords because there is an assumption that these keywords are profitable; otherwise, why would so many companies bid on these keywords?

For the most part, when companies spend money on Google Ads, they are testing which keywords actually make money for them. If a keyword doesn’t make money for them, then there is a good chance that this keyword will have a low cost per click. This isn’t always the case, and there are a few occasions when a keyword that has a low cost per click will be profitable. There are a number of reasons as to why there is this discrepancy; it can be down to Google not listing data correctly or another anomaly that just can’t be explained.

How do you find these companies?
The long way to do this is to go through all locations in the UK looking for SEO companies.

Step 1: Search all locations for a given region; we’ll pick London for this example.

Step 2: Enter info into a spreadsheet.
Put each keyword into Google, then copy and paste the company URL into a spreadsheet. This way, you can keep a list of companies in your niche and remove duplicates.

Step 3: Find out the metrics of each website.
During this step, you can use the free AHrefs URL checker to find out the DR of the site and copy this information into the spreadsheet.

Step 4: Contact all companies on the list.
Keep your message short and sweet, and just ask for a guest post opportunity on their site.
